Funny and apt: My sister has a urinary line the has to have a stent. A stent in the urinary tract will only last 12 months at best, sometimes 6 or 8 months.
2 years ago, getting it changed and I was in the prep room to get progress etc. Strange, no timely reports, but one call that advised they were thru and doc would be right up to discuss.
Doc rolls in accompanied by a nice young lady. Both seemed worried/tense/concerned... Doc explains surgery went well; sis in recovery, but they would be keeping her overnight. I ask if all went so swimmingly, why the stay?
He sorta stuttered, and the young lady began to cry... Then they said.. "We turned her blue... I just said How? He said the hospital pharmacy substituted the aesthesia and there was a reaction. The young lady wailed," And I gave it to her...." I asked, what is "Turned Blue"? Coloration, skin itself, what.
He says: true now... "Like a Smurf"..
So we discuss, Doc is concerned. It is a reaction, non life threatening or permanent. Overnight is just for observation safety. There will be no charge. Steps will be taken at pharmacy. All was logically explained. Young lady is still tearful that she administered something not kosher, without detailed questioning.
This procedure had been repeated for a number of years and all fine. I respect the doc (Urologist, use him myself) so assured them I did not have a lawyer on hand nor was going to look for one. To relax and get Sis white again...
All turned out well. I would love to have that young lady put me under as she would be very sure of what was to happen...
( Amusement was) I was in the only chair. They had come in and stood leaning against the opposite wall as started talking, and both had sorta slid /hunkered down to squat on floor with back to the wall as they explained...Like expecting to get shot momentarily...)Cattleman84, Dale thompson, dwells40 and 5 others Thank this. -
The critter is back in her own habitat — HB told us when we got home that we needed a nap bad so it’s definitely nap time
