    i just finished with a refresher course i have 13 yrs otr and took off last time drove was nov 07 have good record and mvr and live in mississippi coast any ideas for a job?

    The current issue is the insurance companies are telling these companies who they can hire and who they can't.

    A refresher course is demanded by some of these same insurance companies after a lapse in actually doing the job, that is why companies demand varying amounts of 'current' experience, and some variation is encountered in defining what is current experience.

    What does it take? 13 years experience should be enough right? Or are they going by what you have done recently? So if they are looking at what you've done recently then I say stop asking me for 10 years work history then. Sound good? :biggrin_25522:

    Big E, If you left Trucking for a couple years then tried to come back, most OTR companies and even some local companies may require you to go through a refresher course to prove profiency to the insurance company. it may not sound right but that is the current state.
