    What’s going on with Swift?

Did you just decide against them?

Too many really funny Swift memes and jokes; thus, they just weren't "cool" enough...:p :D

    That blows..

What about Waste Management at the landfill off Sarno?
I’ve always been curious about driving for them just to be local and home every night. Getting burned out on OTR.

They have quite a few semi trucks they run. Also think they are union..not sure been a few years since I checked them out.

Like Paul Harvey used to say, there must be a rest of the story with the driving record or other issues to get turned down by Swift.

    I would respectfully disagree....

When I first started out CDL driving--Swift turned me down, as well. Even with a spotless driving record beforehand--along with all the CDL endorsements....plus a TWIC....plus a US passport.

    Why....you then might ask?

I think (at that time) it was probably a work/employment history that they didn't care for--I had been a caregiver for a parent for several years--instead of holding down a "regular" job (yeah....shame on me, right? :p ).

Also--I think Swift (and the other megas) are simply tightening up their hiring criteria right now. The freight just isn't there like it used to be..... :(

I’ve been honest with you fellow members from the beginning.

@BM 58, they along with many others are tightening down on who they hire. Two years ago, I guarantee I would be hired but now because of the limited opportunities in E. Central Florida and the fact I’ve been part time since the end of 07’ due to my challenges, makes it more difficult to bring me on.

I see people on the road daily that can barely fog a mirror. It’s a shame that someone mega or otherwise won’t give you a chance.

If my prospects don’t pan on, I might try expediting. Either with a straight truck or a van.
