I made well over that last year. But I’m just a lowly independent. That doesn’t know much. Never was real good at math either. Maybe that’s why yours isn’t adding up.
you still only had 12.6 mil in revenue and 6% profit. That’s 756,000 in profit. For 200 trailers and 70 power units. Doesn’t sound great
Rates are crashing and fuel to the moon!

was gonna say......94 O/R for a truckload carrier isn't much to crow about......but what do I know
There are plenty of ways to measure the company’s success, but its operating ratio (OR) is the most stark. A mere six years ago in 2017, Old Dominion (NASDAQ: ODFL) posted a full-year OR of 82.9%. In 2012, the OR was 86.5%.
Last year, the full year OR was 70.6% and it dipped below 70% in the second and third quarters to just over 69%, an almost unheard-of performance.
Old Dominion’s Gantt spells out how company came to dominate LTL industry (yahoo.com)
Typically, TL carriers have a lower O/R because they have a lower overhead. That said, it's a lot better than US Express
While many other truckload carriers were reporting record earnings, U.S. Xpress struggled to keep its operating ratio from rising over the red ink-dividing line of 100%.fordconvert, PPLC, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this. -

Good for you!!
Its not my company.... My paycheck with my measly $128k yearly salary is deposited every two weeks on Friday like clock work.... Also full medical/dental benefits with a $500 annual deductible that costs $544 a month for my wife and I. Plus I hit my bonus.... Oh and I only work M-F from 7-4. No weekends, no on call, 4 weeks of PTO... Do you want to continue this entertaining my johnson is bigger than your johnson... Or do you want to learn more about dedicated freight that you as an independent will never see?Rontonio Thanks this. -
Let it go, @Jubal Early Times. Otherwise Rio or someone else will shut this thread down
dwells40 and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
You see.... You fellas are trying to compare one single operation of a mega and claim the numbers are crap. The company has 260-ish dedicated operations across the USA with different Fortune 500 companies. You have one truck and trailer?
-
You make lots of assumptions. It makes you look like an arrogant prick. I have no need to compare my dick with you. It would only depress you.
The only point I am making is that your “dedicated” freight sounds like trash. So I wouldn’t bang on spot market guys. The reason your freight isn’t on the spot market is because it’s already dirt cheap.
let me guess! This is your customer?
