Cb radio squelch

There are a lot of factors that go into distance. I'm sure you could easily get 5 miles in flat terrain with few obstructions, but if you're in the mountains you may be lucky to get out even a mile.

Also remember the number of drivers who even have CBs these days is much lower than in the past, so I'm not surprised you don't get much response. I'll sometimes go all day without hearing anything at all on the CB. Try asking for a radio check some time when you're parked in a large busy truck stop.

 

I bought cheap cb speakers from cb shop. I blew the bigger on with the General Lee (50 watts) but the small one still works with the tiny uniden and the cobras

 

Turn the squelch down use the white noise to drown wind noise out.... Problem solved

 

This truck has electrical issue. It blew both my Cobras and i wont put another in. I watch google map for traffic and dont hear the impatient fools yelling at whomever they are impatient with - besides the are to easy to taunt
I usually had them on dash or overhead
