I would guess it would be 10-11 on this load. I have not tried to go slow with the axle up so far. I may end up trying a little bit tomorrow is I can get unloaded at a decent time on my first stop. I will have two days to get from UT to WA so have plenty of time. My real concern is wasting to much hours on my clock for coming back so might not.

This trip has not been as good as I thought I would get because of the heavy storms and lots of wind today in the mountains. Still standing at 9 MPG's total for the trip and have about 350 more miles tomorrow to finish the trip out. Been 15 plus mph wind right at me most of the day. -
Welp lots of wind today as well and of course mountains as well. Will deliver in the morning and only a couple blocks down the road. Found a hotel to park at and paid them $20 bucks to park and of course it looks like a casino is next door. I may have to go check it out and see if I have any luck here.
Total for this load from MO to UT to WA was 9.1 MPG's. I thought I could get closer to 9.5 but the wind really took that ship out to sea and sunk it.
Had a couple loads lined up that was decent after this one but the first one over the weekend got cut late yesterday. So I struggled to find anything worth moving but ended up finding something atleast to get me back to IA. So this next load will be from WA to IA @ 45K so not expecting much as I will need to run hard to make it on time on Monday. Will need to run about 1900 miles I guess so not to bad but can not slow poke around. My hope is I can get close to 8-8.5 doing 70 MPH most of the way. Large mountain coming out of Seattle area will surely eat some fuel in the beginning.ducnut, RedForeman and Constant Learner Thank this. -
Welp will wrap this load up in the morning. I am sitting at the receiver from WA to IA @ 45K and ran 70 plus most of the way here. Ended up with 7.4 MPG's for this load and sitting at 8.2 for the trip so far. Load was coming North of Seattle so I had a long ways to climb starting out. Also just for reference I was 7 MPG's all through the mountain area and dropped to 6.9 briefly a few miles. Can't really complain since my old truck could barely get 7 on a regular bases. I have to remember that sometimes!
I was thinking about trying to run another load out west but don't see that working out with the hours I have coming on recaps. Only have a few hours left on my 70 so will find a load that goes home in the morning or just deadhead the 200 miles back to the house and do a 34.
Will see what next week brings, hopefully something interesting to do would like to get another multi drop load.
Also, I decided to put in a bid for a regular load that is kind of local. Run is everyday 6 days a week so will see if my bid even comes close. Gonna guess it will not but if it does then I will be doing a steady thing for a while I guess.ducnut, Constant Learner and rollin coal Thank this. -
Quick update. I just dead headed home at 70 mph and got 9.7 empty. All in was not that good at 8.2 MPG's for total trip, better luck next trip.

Welp decided not to be too lazy this week and booked 3 more loads. First one is from MO to WI @ 10K and then WI back to MO @ 25K. Then gonna pick up another of one of the multi drop loads I like. It is a MO to UT and WA load. Says 40K but think it will be lighter like the last one I did. Hopefully it is 10K or less and most likely will be less than 20K like the other ones I have done from there.
Looks like some extra loads are finally starting to show up in the market. I have been getting a few calls with and without listing truck so that is a little plus and hopefully it will start to pick up for summer at least.77fib77, ducnut, Constant Learner and 1 other person Thank this. -
You know how some people watch on tv about rich people lifestyles…. I feel like that reading your numbers! I’m just a poor 5 mpg feller lol!

Siinman Thanks this.

76-80K all the time, less than 4% deadhead. LOL
