I been around the block enough to know BS when I hear it. Most people are newbs coming here posting like they're the #### and you don't hear from them ever again. Rswinnerton and kwategra or some #### like that for example. It would be nice to hear management prospective from time to time because you know as well as I that most truckers talk out of their ###, ignorant as can be.
We need more than a driver perspective if you want to know the in's and outs of trucking. -
I feel like I must elaborate a bit to drive the point home. Tax love for training newbs? Really? It costs a company a pretty penny to take on a newb from the getgo. Especially since most newbs don't make it past 3 months. SO tell me you wise truckers, just where is the money the govt gives trucking co's to hire newbs? Can you point me to the law that is written that does this?
Why is it that it's such a rough job these days? Granted the old hands had much harder time than we back in the day with all the two lanes and doghouse cabovers, but really? Is it the co's or the GOVT getting in the way?
Why would a company want to waste so much money just to piss you off? THE GOVERNMENT IS THE MAIN PROBLEM PEOPLE! I bet even Arrow would be doing ok if it weren't for the interference of govt upon every aspect of life and biz.
Most of the q's on here go unanswered by truckers that merely blame other truckers for everything. Many of the so called "truckers" on this forum sound more like mgmt than an actual driver. -
I'm the owner of widgets that just amassed a major contract with a major retailer. I got freight that gots to go everywhere USA. I need a shipper that can TCB. I got Swift Schneider JB etc all them have similar rates. Why should I ship with x as opposed to y? Who names the price the shipper or the hauler?
What's the turnaround compared to rail? What impact has fuel taxes and other govt regs added to the cost basis to run a truck compared to a decade ago?
How do the companies logistics come into play? Is it just the luck of the draw? Is it planned months in advanced or on the fly? Both? Are they really starving you or is there really no freight in the area? Just who do you think you are to deprive a driver of basic living means such as ac and heat? Is it because you hate the driver or because the freight sucks or because of idiots in govt with the free market?
Do you dispatchers and planners just do what software tells ya or do you actually work for a living?
C'mon! I know you truckers have all the answers.
I almost forgot! How the hell do you advertise SE regional but say OH but you have to go to NJ and PA occasionally? Since when did NJ and PA become part of the SE (granted both have their fair share of rednecks)? Do you know what the southeast means?
