Hey out there, its coming time for me to renew my insurance for my company and I was wandering is there anyway to get insurance without the middle guys(agents). This will be my 3rd year with my numbers with no loss claims. Any and all advice is appreciated.
Its time to renew insurance is there anyway to cut the agent out??

A good agent will always get you a better deal especially if you compare the same company to an automated online quote. Change agents if you feel yours is bad.

yes ... become self-insured.Oxbow, gekko1323, FreezingHot32 and 1 other person Thank this.

A good broker is an asset.
Every potential renewal they will have a couple other options/prices just in case.
Have someone 'just on the edge' of meeting the insurance company standards and they can reach out to the underwriters and get an approval.
Suffer a catistrophic loss and they can birdog some relief, like seeing a reserve of your entire coverage amount adjusted to the actiual payout so you expereince mod becomes 'somewhat' acceptable to other underwriters at the crucial time when you are being dropped because of that loss which may be the difference in obtaining new coverage.
You really cannot do all this on your own.tscottme, FreezingHot32 and DUNE-T Thank this. -
The last part is really what Ive been learning in this industry this last year....trying to do it all is almost overwhelmingly(not sure if thats a word) insane.

money
I don't know the details but money.
not trying to be flippant but I never really looked into it because I don't have time (I have the money) to go through with setting it up.gekko1323 and FreezingHot32 Thank this. -
Self insured is a little more than just having some money. Have looked into it, still more beneficial (at least to me) to have a mileage program. Trucks don't move, no cost.

Do you have to meet a fleet size for the mileage program option? Currently I only have 2 trucks under my numbers.

I doubt it with just two trucks. A friend is with just five trucks, but more than double my rate.Siinman and FreezingHot32 Thank this.
