An I using in-cab kingpin release valve wrong?

Trucking companies and manufacturers are trying to make trucking easy enough for Generation TidePods.

 

Yea, they jerk on the 5th wheel handle and then file a comp claim.
Or the others get grease on them and then get right back in the truck.

 

When my friend was running a bunch of hoppers he saved money on his work comp premium by having the agent come out and look at his trucks. He showed the agent that they all had electric tarps and push button hoppers. He also showed him how they used the suspension gauges for loading and how his trailers didn’t have catwalks on the ends. Crazy stuff that I would never even imagine saving someone money in the long run.

 

Why I order trucks like that.

 

The truck I have now (15 porstar) doesn't have it. My old )06 Volvo) did....I miss it

 

My theory is that some of these Megas are going to them because they screw so many drivers that guys are pulling the release arms and dropping trailers just out of spite for these companies. And the companies figure it’s easier to install an in-cab kingpin release than treat people right. Idk maybe that isn’t the case, but I started out with CRST, and pretty much everyone who ever worked there hates them because, well, they’re CRST. They had them on their trucks, and I always thought that was why. But yeah, you’re using it right.

 

All the ones I’ve seen still have the standard release arm. I sure wish I had one on my new truck. It would save me a trip in and out if the cab with a mechanical rgn.

 

Cuts down on shoulder injures and workers comp claims.
But the company has to keep them clean and lubed in order for them to work properly.
The air cylinder s not a fan of salt off the roads in the snow belts.
