Update on my COE

    The labor was $42/hr on top of the $1,400. So, however long the avg time would be to do a single axle is what i paid for the labor

    Youve got to get to 26 hrs of labor at 42/hr just to meet my parts cost, thats all im saying. Now if they charged you 40 hrs, maybe you got stiffed, but doesnt seem terrible, since i got 2 days of being sweaty, grimey and disgusting into the mix

    Wow. I just called a place here in Denver to do my annual DOT inspection. They wanted $200 an hour.

    How so? Don't you have to be a certified tech to do the official annual ones?

    no you dont at all. if you are the head of your maintenance program within your company. you are qualified to do inspections. you have to maintain records on this.

    here is the regulation on it. eCFR :: 49 CFR 396.19 -- Inspector qualifications.
