I'm an expat currently working outside the country, and I'm not sure at what point in time will be right for me to transition back to the USA. I thought it would've happened by now, but certain circumstances here are out of my control. And that's all I will say about that. So my search will continue for the time being.

I agree, I don't think there is a perfect fit. As a mental exercise, I'm not even sure I could decide on what the perfect driving job would be.

I'd probably still have to go through a recruiter to request driver contact info, and I still wouldn't put it out of the question that they just BS me with passing me the personal phone number of another recruiter or something.

Sounds like any given new hire should expect to make the low end of the average weekly pay? Do you do OTR or are you on a dedicated. I was considering I might like their costco account.

I can't envision someone who has any kind of a life or family making $97k at Schneider.

Maybe someone who never went home and ran like a demon.

I made $45-50k in 2003-2006. Decent money. I was on an account that was most drop and hook, and I ran like a 23 year-old who didn't know any better.

I did a cup of coffee in 2009 during the financial crisis, and would have made even less than that.

I can't picture many drivers getting out of the 60-70k range in 2023, without any direct knowledge.

I agree 100% and that is exactly why they list it as top pay, only a tiny percentage are going to avoid going home and jump thru all the daily hurdles. Not sure how many drivers Schneider has but my guess is over 10,000. Among the 10,000 drivers maybe half of one percent will hit the top pay mark so that means you would have to out work 9,950 other drivers. Does this mean Schneider is lying when they say you CAN make 97k a year or does it mean you have to work much harder than most people want to do? I had a friend while in the Army who worked part time delivering pizzas and also filling in as one of the many, many mangers this location had. We worked on average about 55 hours a week in the Army and he then pulled about 35 hours a week doing the pizza thing. He had a goal, he wanted to save enough money to start a video store as they were all rage at the time. This was in the late 80's. He figured out he would still not have enough money so he got an early am delivery job with the local paper. All total he was working about 100 hours a week. Everyone thought he was nuts but as a low ranking enlisted 20 year old in the 80's he manged to save enough money in 3 years to fully fund the startup of what would become a very profitable business for him that he flipped years later and bought the rights to develop subway stores in a fairly large city. The last I heard he had over 30 stores and was selling out to some sports player. From time to time a bunch of us from the Army get together and to this day half the group still think he is nuts for working so hard and the rest of us are just amazed he could do it. At the end of the day it comes down to how bad do you want it. Do you want to be closer to average or do you want to push harder than the rest of us.

    LtlAnonymous Thanks this.
