Does the type of account you get for your first job impact future job opportunities in this industry? If so, what is the best way to start out if you could choose any type of account? Intermodal, refer, flatbed, dry van etc
Edit: well for some reason this posted before I finished typing the title - New Grad Job Types

are you able to find work in your area i have looking for 5 months

An "over the road" job will open up the most opportunities, for later.
A local, home-daily job will open up later opportunities, but many other companies will want that "OTR" experience.
You just need to figure out what you REAL-LY want.
Do you already have your CDL?
Do you have any CDL endorsements?
What is your zip code?

Trucking just gives you experience. Now the sector of trucking gives you different types of experience. Dry van and reefer is the most basic experience. I'd say reefer/food grade tanker may be the most steady money. What impacts your opportunities are your endorsements, experience, and whether you could keep a clean driving record.

What is considered OTR? Regional meaning within a few hundred miles of your City & home 2 days a week, or a 10 state region - out 2 weeks at a time? Do both count? yes. Hazmat and Tanker. Dallas. I am not sure what I want to do in the future just yet. I am curious if the type of freight account you start with impacts future opportunities. For example if you start a Dry Van, vs Flatbed, vs Intermodal etc

Do you think it's risky to not start out in a dry van or refer?

You should not be picky any experience will be fine as long your not jumping one job to another that looks bad
