Any backed up freight helps the market. It overflows in all markets. You think Parcels are only moved in little vans?ducnut, Jubal Early Times, Speedy356 and 3 others Thank this.
-
Majority are moved by feeders/sleepers. Plus how would the trailers get loaded? UPS trailers are loaded by loaders who are in union.BennysPennys and bzinger Thank this.
-
You think they will be shipping with the same shipper if they are on strike?Jubal Early Times and cdavis188 Thank this.

everything pushes.......instead of a bunch of boxes, shipper palletizes and puts on LTL.....LTL has so much volume that now LTL shipments are truckload stop offs.......truckload stop offs move the true truckload freight in the same direction......
everything pushes
It'll be real fun if Yellow and UPS strike at the same timeducnut, Speedy356, gentleroger and 2 others Thank this. -
Yea FXF has a lot of excess drivers to cover the ground side lol. Not sure about the home deliveries. I’d jump on a box truck route just as long as my hourly rate didn’t change. I doubt UPS will strike but who knows about Yellow.
-
I would see half truck loads getting shipped as full truck loads at a premium price in some areas. It will be good for dry van freight.

The parcel biz and freight biz are two totally desperate entities...So no they don’t cross over.....If you’re thinking the freight companies can now do ups line haul work....
Tell me
Who is gonna pick up all the tiny shipments at every lil place in country
And what ltl freight company has the capacity to drop trailers at different large shippers and then deal with sorting 2-300 separate small shipments....
Not to mention who ya gonna get to cross a teamster picket line -
UPS Parcel doesn’t do that kind of work
-
Of course they do not but shippers needing things shipped in a timely manner will. You seem to think shippers do not think outside the box when they need the stuff moved. If they do not need it moved in a timely manner sure it can sit. But I have seen plenty of stuff like that ship out even without a strike.Jubal Early Times, gentleroger and Opus Thank this.
