Well, like I said, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

My point is that due to the Dunning Kruger effect, some folks think linearity can exist Even when it's impossible due to manufacturing budget constraint in Chinese factories. This radio stuff is just like blueprinting and balancing an engine. If you don't remove the components and check the curve on each of them, how would you even comprehend why you would have massive distortion at a specific audio frequency? This is where following a service manual is completely useless because the service manual is not going to tell you to inspect the tolerances of the components.

I'm not sure who would be more foolish, a tech who would remove new components, then spend a couple of hours checking a hundred MOSFETs, or the person paying that tech a few hundred dollars to do that. All just to talk on the CB band ... Sorry, I still say it's a sales gimmick.

As soon as you can replicate the 74 mile Freightliner Cascadia trip using identical coordinates I will agree with you. Until then, I think the results speak for themselves since people like you have consistently failed to get more than 30 miles west of that location and still make the trip to my receiver using any amount of amplification available to them.
Spectral purity could hardly be considered a gimmick considering the limited amount of power you have available to you, why would you want to waste 30% of it on frequencies other than the one you're attempting to use for communication?
To take it a step further, why would you want to produce audio frequencies in the 500 megahertz range when I won't even hear them from that distance of 74 miles because those sounds will be covered up by noise?

So do you personally test these components with your own equipment or are you just repeating what you've been told?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

Actually I think Mike and all of his YouTube followers should have stayed away from his own Kool-Aid. Beware of people who claim to be experts yet can't help but make excuses for why a radio sounds badly at a specific audio frequency because they lack the skills to make it sound however they want at any audio frequency. proxy-image (9).jpeg
