cant i put some kinda " fuse box " at the end of the cables that leads to the battery with the clamps so just in case theres too much power itll blow the fuse and not the battery ??

the company im gonna be drivin for is Arnold.. I live in Florida and my choices are slim to none .. got mosdtly freightliner century class and its a 1000 watt invertor not a 1500... i forgot the fan on my 1500 doesnt work anymore.. heh..:biggrin_25524:

Any reputable RV service and parts store will have the cables, the terminals, and most important...a breaker....

thx for all the help guys.. sorry if im being a pest... but ive only been drivin for a cpl years and last company i drove for Usless Express allowed power invertors.. so i didnt pay much attention to the hookup .. but this next company arnold doesnt allow them and im wanting to be able to hook up and unhook with as little pain as possible.. so this is wut i got from yall so far..

get 4gauge wire can use jumper cables... clip both ends one end goes to 1000watt invertor the other end i connect to a 200 amp circuit breaker and then connect that to some battery connectors ?? is that pretty much it ?? do yall have sum kinda diagram on wut it wud look like when everything is connected ?? id hate to blow the battery up and owe arnold my life...

I'm not sure that's going to be so easy. I hate to say it, but it could be more trouble than it is worth. If you look at the sticky at the top of this section "installing a power inverter" you will learn a lot.

You could do this to disconnect easily.

But the cables will still be running from the battery, and you don't want your shop to see that.

I've actually thought about this a lot because of the economy. I've gone through various scenarios if my company went out of business and I had to go work somewhere else that didn't allow an inverter.

I thought about if I would do something like you're trying to do. My world would be completely changed, but I don't think I would try to rig anything up.

But good luck, I'm sure there is way to do it efficiently if you keep trying.

well since im in florida my choices are very slim right now all i have to choose from is Knight , Arnold , and Gainey . Im going with Arnold cuz they have a terminal here in Jacksonville Fl . Last company I drove for PAVCO layed me off due to lack of freight and woundt send me home so I had to park the truck aqt the terminal in Louisville KY and my girlfreind had to drive from jacksonville fl to louisville to pick me up . they wouldnt do anything to help me get home ... anyhooterz..

i clicked the link but i couldnt find anything about hooking up some kinda fuse breaker just in case theres too much power so i dont blow the batteries up.. but ill check out that stickey...

i already have a set of cables 4 gauge but for some reason the fuse keeps blowing and everything is under the wattage on the invertor.. 1000 .. ive tried all different kinds of sizes of fuses.

It needs to be grounded also if you haven't tried that.
