Hey smokemac I have been thinking about going over to eagle and I was wondering you say you average over 1000 a week but the website says over42000 a year. Is that just the base pay or does it depend on the terminal you work out of. I am interrested but that is a big difference in pay. Thanks for your info.

42,000 is the company avearage. They only garuntee $540 a week dor a 6 day worrk week and $450 a week. I am making the money I make because we are down 2 drivers at my terminal. I also have loading privalages at other terminals to. Like I work out of Savannah and go to N. Augusta to get loaded. Now keep in mind some drivers make less than that $42,000, and some fortunate drivers make more. Alot depends on the availability of work and a little depends on what you want to do
If I have the hours I do the work. We have some drivers that will not cros the 12 hour mark. Then they complain about making no money

Thanks for the info. I guess I will talk to the hiring manager here in charleston to see what they are looking like they have had a ad in the paper. I have driven tankers and haz for most of my carrier but I let my haz go just recently cause it was not needed then last week they closed the doors with no notice so I learned my lesson to keep it at all times once I get it back. Had it for 10 years and then when I don't need it I need it. Well I know they won't say to much to me without it but ill get the test done this week and wait. I have twic and have been in and out of fuel stations with my last job so that should help. I see a lot of their trucks on the road here so I'm gonna talk with some one and find out some info I have been wanting to see one parked but haven't yet. Well ill let you know what happens and thanks for the info. If you know anything else that might help please let me know.

SmokeMac is correct ... the 42 grand is a company average ... and I somehow believe that dispatchers and corporate office help are figured into that amount. But I do know of some drivers that only work 9 hour days and only 5 days a week. Limiting yourself to a 9 hour day can have serious effects on your take home pay. I have been with Eagle for 6 years come July and this year was my lowest by far ... only made about $52,000 because work was really light. Prior to that I had never made less than $60,000.

Eagle is a good company ... they have been more than fair to me ... They have taken all my previous experience into account working for other companies as a gas hauler and started me off at 15% experience pay... now I'm at 17%. They let me keep my truck about 4 miles away from my house at a local oil company that I worked for for 15 years, even though I run out of the Charlotte terminal. They have never knowingly tried to fudge my pay check, they started me out with 4 weeks paid vacation and 6 paid sick leave days every year. They run you legal and keep you legal. My insurance runs $52.00 per week on myself and I could get it a little cheaper for a little less coverage ... don't know what the figure is for family insurance.

If you keep your safety record up and are very careful about what you load, how you load it and how you drop it, you will have very little trouble with Eagle.

Miles do you work 5 or 6 days and do you work days or nights? Just trying to see the difference in pay. I've been told you make more at night but I'm not much of a night person but will if needed. Thanks.

I am thinking that John is a day time driver woking 5 days, because he only made $52,000 last year. He is at 17% above the base pay. I made 53,000 as a Midnight Gas Hauler working 5.5 nights getting straight base pay.
This is how it works if a a load pays $100 base, he would get $117 with experiance pay $100 base pay + $17 for experiance = 117. Not many loads pay this much I just used $100 because I suck at math
