Ended up doing a relay situation with another driver needing to go home -- picked up his Palmyra load in London, OH. Anyone know if we pick up in Palmyra or do we just drop off loaded trailers and take empties elsewhere for a reload?

Usually we pick up a loaded trailer to come back to Edwardsville. There have been a few of instances where I got an empty and went to reload elsewhere. I personally prefer just reloading right there and avoiding any chance of a live load lol. I made it out to Aurora at this Costco. I haven't delivered to a Costco in so long that I forgot how nice and spacious they are. Getting through those back roads when it's dark, man...a driver needs to proceed with caution. I've got 5 hrs left on my 70. It wouldn't surprise me if I had to take the day off after unloading. It feels so good out here I don't even need the APU tonight.

I'm headed back with a load picking up in Aurora, those lava cakes I think.. it's going to Witte Bros. I lucked out. I was low on hours. Robert calls and asks me to pick up a driver who's truck broke down in Denver. The transmission went out. We are gonna team drive this load to get back. That will conserve my hours and allow me to squeeze one more load in tomorrow. Winning!!!

    Must've been @57 model's truck :D

Glad you're having a good week out west. Should have a good pay check fitting in another load before Friday.

I ended up picking up at Hershey -- Palmyra. Only 19,000 pounds and most of driving will be after 10pm, so should be an easy ride back. It said delivery date was 7/14, but idk if they'll let me drop it tomorrow or not. Either way, I'll be back in Climate territory with 18 or so hours for the weekend. Should work out well for a Texas or Colorado load or something for a Monday delivery, but we'll see how it shakes out. Travis likes sending me the Fulton loads like once a week, so it might end up being that instead lol

Man you better drop that load tomorrow! Lol. Just because they give you 2 days, it don't mean take 2 days. The back hauls are the key to success here. Those loads are your money makers. Unless they tell me to deliver once i get to STL, I am hauling ### to get back if I can. Any load that's a drop, get there asap. The only time that don't apply is when we do loads that go to St. James, MO Walmart DC. Then you can only drop it on that day. They're probably gonna put you on a short run out of there. A lot ofntimes it seems Thursday is a short load day, then you can get another back haul to get you set up for a weekend load.

I was around Harrisburg Pa today. Reminded me of all the times I went to hershey's at Palmyra. Dumped wheat up at Selinsgrove Pa. Which if I remember correctly I went north of there before up to sunbury or up that way for a climate back haul. It's 11 an 15 north out of harrisburg or ya can run up 22. Both come north off of 81.

The Mrs. is going through all the hoops to renew her medical card. She seems real anxious to get back to work.

Currently sitting at a hotel in mobile Alabama. Breakdown day two in the books. The black box you see on top of newer freightliner windshields is a rain sensor and basically controls the speed of the windshield wipers. That sensor is hanging loose only hanging on by the wires plugged into it. The adaptive brakes and cruise are affected by this as well. The freightliner is waiting on a bracket to put the sensor back up. They’ve recalibrated all the other stuff. But that hanging sensor was very distracting needless to say. I am under a load of milk going to a federal prison in Mississippi. Maybe gods trying to tell me something lol

    Climate Express basic questions:

    • Can somebody clarify what are Climate's preferred hiring areas?
    • If I stay out more than 2 weeks -- can I stay home more than 2 days? If so -- please specify the details.
    • Does a hazmat endorsement ever come in handy? What about a tanker endorsement?

I used my tanker endorsement one time in the 6 yrs i was there. It was a back haul out of Wisconsin that required it. Don't remember the particulars. Climate doesn't haul hazmat. With that being said, I did haul something one time that for whatever reason it only required placards in mexico or some crazy weird thing. But it wasn't considered hazardous in the states. Again the details are a little foggy cuz it's the only time in 30 yrs that I've ran across such a thing like that. They were always pretty flexible on hometime for me an the wife. They do say up front not to count on banking days off for multiple weeks out. That's just my experience from when I was there. @bryan21384 can add more details.
