Welp at the first stop in CA and decided to take the southern route. Ended up running in wind most of the trip so not that impressive so far at 8.6 MPG's. I figured I would run into less wind this way but guess that is not the case. Have to drop off tomorrow night in OR and then pick up another load in OR going to TX. That load is a light one at I believe right around 9K. Hopefully will have that wind help me out on the way back since I will be going back the someway I came in.

Yeah, that seems crazy. I don’t think mine would do that bobtail either. Maybe at 57mph but still.
But, I bet the IFTA average for all trucks is still less then 7 mpg. Fleet wide were at 7.9 right now but only 1/3 have apu. I’m pretty happy with it.gentleroger, Siinman and ducnut Thank this. -

My cost per mile is .50 so far. No DEF. The APU works hard.Siinman Thanks this. -
I am at the last drop here in OR now. Went up I5 for the first time and enjoyed the views. From CA to OR I got 8.9 MPG's and total trip is set at 8.7 MPG's. I drove 67 most of the way here with some 70 a few hours here and there. I did drive 65 and 67 in CA so did not do the slow 55 MPH speed. I don't think many people drive that slow around here so just tried to follow most of the traffic. Sure if I would had slowed down I would had been closer to 9.
Next load picks up tomorrow afternoon in OR and goes to TX @9500 LBS. I will need to run a little faster I think but will need to calculate my HOS to see what I will need to do to make it on time. It does not deliver until Tuesday so I should be ok but might need to run recap on Tuesday morning to make it on time. Always have to push these HOS to the max it seems when I come out. I am hoping to be in the 9-9.5 or better if no wind issues.ducnut Thanks this. -
The way that program works it does not allow another area to add DEF unless you create another profile. So I do not add that in since it is more work then I care to do. With my discounts it is still under that amount if you add the DEF in so no reason to really track it for me. Depending on load weight and area I drive I get around 2.5 Tanks of fuel per 1 tank of DEF. I normally top it off every time I fill up.Constant Learner and ducnut Thank this.
