Clearly from the same company, I see some of the trucks "harvesting" big areas of trees out here, raping the land, really, they claim fire prevention. Maybe, but the places these trucks go to get the "sticks", I wouldn't take my Jeep, so a mechanical issue is possible, but more than likely, another one for distracted driving. Driver #2 better be in the hospital chapel this Sunday. The good news, the sticks are okay,,,

Look, harvesting trees is an agricultural enterprise. They harvest, then plant more. I am tempted to say something about being uninformed and uneducated, but I won't because it makes the mods grumpy. That said, I'll just leave you with this from a tree hugger website.....

The United States has 10% of the global forests, and it has more trees than it did 100 years ago. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) states that forest growth in the country has surpassed harvest since the 1930s. By 1998, tree growth exceeded harvest by 43% and the forest cover was 380% more than it had been in the 1920s.

Calm down, tree hugger,,just kidding, there is some merit to the fire control, as in the mountains here, there are so many dead trees, once a fire does start, many times from lightning, it's difficult to get to in remote areas, and it burns out of control. The same situation is going on in Canada now. I can't confirm your facts, but I don't see how that's possible, more trees? What about city growth that has reduced forests? I read, millions of acres of the US forests burned last year, 7.5 million alone last year, besides, most tree harvesting went for paper or cardboard. I come from Wisconsin, whose paper industry was decimated by the computer and most all those plants are closed. Sticks like this are shipped by rail to paper plants down south. They plant more? Not here, as the scars of the "harvest" are all that remain.

Do you have 2*4 studs inside the walls of your home? do you have wooden floors, or do you have any wooden furniture. If so then are you a rapist?

One interesting fact I learned on my first trip to the pacific northwest is that in many areas any commercial logging requires the company to plant 2 to 3 trees for each one they take down. We are not running out of trees, we are not running out of oil, & we are not running out of water.

The average acres burnt is trending down if you look long term it’s the fact that media covers it better and/or changes the numbers .. Guys like tony heller post the real numbers on you tube using newspapers and verified sources

I might get struck by a bolt of lightning for saying this but with modern forest practices man can grow better trees than God. True.
Example...my Grandfather clearcut a 40 acre piece in 1956. Mixed species, Ponderosa pine, white fir, doug fir, and cedar. Paid on net scale at the mill. He then replanted to doug fir and pine. There was some volunteer cedar and white fir but not much.
Last year we clear cut that same 40 acre piece again. Our total yield in board feet was 15% higher, net scale, than the first time it was cut. Our results weren't unusual either. With good forest practices my son will probably beat my 15% increase when he cuts it again.
Run out of trees? Not any time soon.
