So I was diagnosed with sleep apnea about a year ago, I use the machine religiously, best thing ever happen to me. Here’s the issue, I went for a DOT physical, FIRST time since the the diagnosis, and the doctor never asked and basically gave me a 2 year card. Should I go back or just wait till the next physical?
Keep in mind I didn’t lie, he just never asked, I guess because they were busy that day, I do use it everyday.
Will I get fired if employer finds out?
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE.

First question does your employer know about your sleep apnea? 2nd there is a national data base that is for sleep apnea patients so someone may have put u on it when diagnosed so u may want to cover your butt because from my understanding it can be consequences for u.

The doctor issued you a card. You didn’t lie or withhold anything. You’re good for two years.

tscottme Thanks this.

They don't ask, I don't tell. BTW, is Apnea a reason for a 1 year? I'm on a 1 year for blood pressure.

Apnea is a 1 yr card just like blood pressure. When u went for your physical there should have been a medical questionnaire u had to answer & sleep apnea is on that & I myself answered no once & got called out on it because of the registry

A CPAP is very common and not a big deal. It’s a 1-yr card. Depending on your DOT doc, they may require a wellness report from your PCP or simply require a usage report from your machine. It’s not something I’d take a risk getting disqualified for, which is CSA reportable. It’s so much easier to simply have one’s affairs in order.
