This is bad for the drivers but good for the industry. Working inefficiently and undercost shouldn’t be rewarded by bail outs … we just came off record earnings and they still faltered while others prospered .

Thanks.. Estes said no due to lack of experience, Saia nothing open in my area ODFL and R&L have no terminals in my area. They are 2 hours away without traffic and there is always lots of traffic.

With 9100 drivers, not everyone is going to find a new job. Hopefully some will have enough time in to pull the plug and retire.

The solution is a simple one. Go get some OTR experience and then try again with one of those companies. You were one of the fortunate ones to get an LTL job as a rookie. Lightning rarely strikes twice. 1 year will come and go, and you might not even have to wait a full year if you can keep your record clean. In a time where there's a bit of a downturn, you'll have make yourself stand out from the crowd. I imagine you have all your endorsements, but experience combined with a clean record will open up the industry more for you. You'll never find a shortage of newer drivers wanting to work locally and be home a lot. You'll have an easier time getting an OTR gig. If getting back to LTL is your ultimate goal, get started taking the long hard road to get back there. Sometimes you have to take more time consuming route tk achieve what you want.
