Good news is they offer breakdown pay. Bad news is it's not the greatest rate and it's only going to keep happening until they get the truck to a dealership. They might work on after treatment at the terminal, but I doubt it. Just set your expectations low for tomorrow lol. An APU equipped truck should rarely, if ever, need a parked regen -- usually the moving regens going down the road when you don't even realize are enough to keep a properly functioning after treatment system in order

In its defense, it's knocking heavily on 470k right now. Not sure as to why I was even given it in the first place since I thought they traded in at 450k.

Sadly, that was the most solid truck I had out of the 4 I've had here lol. Granted, most every other issue I've had with a truck is Volvo doing Volvo things. Obviously the drive train and after treatment is more reliable on their newer trucks.

1195 got traded at 489k, so you don't have much longer to go

I *wasn't;)* told this, but they all get traded right before 500. I'm not sure how their trades work, but I'm guessing around 480, they start taking offers. Or maybe it's just an exchange deal when they have new trucks show up. Who knows

I was gonna say, i remember that on some loads they don't want you going in any earlier than the day of the delivery appt. I never could get it figured out 100%. Cuz some walmarts I would go to would tell ya oh it's no big deal an we don't fine the carrier on some loads an on others we do. I never could make sense of that Walmart policy.

OK so if you're having to do parked regens that much, and you're losing power, your DPF is probably clogged. I think you need to call the shop and see what they say. They're going to have to take the off the DPF and bake the soot out of there. That's usually supposed to be done like every quarter million miles or so. Call the shop and Travis immediately so they can do what they need to do. You ain't gonna be able to drive all the way to back to Missouri like that.

This is true, but the previous driver may have idled the truck a lot or didn't use cruise going down the highway. Both of those things will cause soot to build up faster. I hope they don't tell him to try and drive back to the terminal. I don't think the truck would make it.

I always had the regen light or high exhaust temp light come intermittently. Was always told it was doing a passive regen. I never actually had a thing come on an force me to do a parked regen. What some companies don't seem to realize is, is that these after treatment systems need more preventative maintenance to keep them cleaned to avoid expensive replacement issues. They run a truck for 400k to 500k without doing some of the proper preventative maintenance items that they should be doing an then sell or trade it for someone else to get stuck with all the headaches that their mismanagement has now caused.

They have a standing order at volvo in wright city mo. They get an order of new ones in I believe twice a year. So some trucks get traded in sooner then others. Not sure who makes the decision as to which trucks get pulled out of service 1st. Some trucks like the higher mileage ones get passed on to some of the driver's that stay close an run city work. They finish them off an then trade them. Not sure of how many guys that they have doing city work an staying more limited regional. The owner has a regular buyer already arranged for all the trucks that get traded back in. That is what I was told at one time by safety during a road test. When I was there before the pandemic, we had to re road test every year at annual review time.

Yea, they definitely need to change it. Then again I know how Larry is. If he can get it back to the yard in the name of saving a buck, ya know he will.
