I've used floor jacks to put trannys in or out always pissing down my pant leg worried about it falling was gona make a craddle for the floor jack .. then finaly broke down and bought a trans jack .. made use of it for so many more things I use it to replace cab & sleeeper mounts and if I switch out 3rd members it has brackets and chains too to I chain axles to it it if I swith out housings .. I got pissed off 1 day last winter changing out a clutch and broke a couple fingers so I said F### this S### and bought a clutch jack too I gots about 2600 in both of them .. but it sure makes a clutch or trans job easier .. I realize thats a fair bit of money .. and maybe not worth it if you only do it once every few years too .. but thats trans jack is well worth the 1200 I paid in my opinion

The oil filler plug on top. A 1 inch threaded nipple with a 2 foot chain welded on. Lift through the frame rails.

That concrete floor inside a building makes me super jealous!!!

I had another driver who was having charging problems with their truck and had taken it to a "professional" shop 3 times where they replaced the alternator and batteries....found this and had to dig a trough with a hoe to make a small pit to fix this mess.

I wish they made off road versions of those jacks.

No, I take that back. Honestly I wish that they paid mechanics enough for good ones to stick around in my area so I didn't have to fix things.

Mechanic said the alternator was pulling lots of amps. When I pointed out it was at 6.6 volts and the batteries were at 11.5 it didn't click with him why it wasn't charging.

    I would rather just drive.

I know @Oxbow I swapped a trans for guy .. and charged enough pay for it .. I did the same on the clutch jack it was still dishearting to know I worked just to pay for the jacks. The clutch jack is the 1 that pisses me off the most.. when you need it its great but other than that it just takes up space ..

On that note, Skeeter put a clutch in for me about two years ago, and it only has about 20,000 miles on the clutch. I know any time you have the trans out just go ahead and replace the clutch, but this one is about new, so I was going to keep on with the one we have. Thoughts? The retarder was re-sealed then as well, so there shouldn't be any leaks.

X2 on reusing it. I see the thought on replacing it cause it’s out, but with so low mileage I wouldn’t even consider it.
