You'll get detention if you're there 2 hrs after your appt time. You probably won't be there that long if you got taters. Most of the time, Robert sends me a message saying detention added. I've gotten it for 30 min past 2 hrs. It was 6 bucks lol. There's the Loves and another truck stop going north with parking, but if you have enough time to get to Arden, they have overnight parking there

Literally 5 minutes after I posted this, they called and said bols were ready. Can't beat that with a stick. And the Loves across the street had plenty of spaces open!

....now I'm worried about what's gonna hit the fan tomorrow lol

The one you speak of in Wisconsin saved my bacon one time in the winter. My padlock froze up an the key broke off in it. They were able to find someone in their maintenance department to get it cut off.

I always sent a free form message with my times an specifically noted for detention. Hershey loads are all supposed to be automatically paid , but I believe in the "CYA" method of doing things. So I sent a message everytime that I expected to get detention pay. I always got it. Right before I left the pay I was getting for detention was showing $15.00 an hour on my settlements.

Well, this morning was far from my proudest morning. Set an alarm on my screaming meanie, didn't realize I had accidentally set it to low volume option, woke up this morning to a nice sunrise... for my 6am delivery. Anyone who's been in trucking for anytime knows not to screw around with CVS, Walgreens, Target, or Walmart appointments. And I FAFO today.

No idea how, why, or what happened, but they did it take it today an hour and 45 minutes late after the receiving department canceled the appointment already.

Probably won't look great in my employee file and could be a termination, but I'm sure I'll find out one way or the other lol. Travis couldn't believe it when I told him I was dropping the trailer for unload today, so maybe it'll soften the blow a bit.

Moral of the story: Don't FAFO ever, but if you're going to FAFO, don't do it as a second chance employee at a Target DC hauling dedicated customer freight

They will cut you some slack. Don't sweat bullets over it. Just explain your situation to travis an move forward. They were always very lenient and understanding in my opinion. I gotta say as far as otr companies go Climate was right there at the top of my list of being a great company to have worked for.

How goes it? We unloaded at Des Moines. I'm at Jim Hawk getting an airbag put on my trailer. Once I get done here, then we will see about getting this week a rolling. Supposed to run a short trip to Wisconsin an back. Then swap back to my normal trailer and load tomorrow for Flagstaff Az. The load we are taking out there is really light material so the net weight is only gonna be around 22000. Should make for an easy drive.

Well, got sent to Maryland so I guess I survived this one. Just glad it happened on month 2 and not day 2. Might have to double up on the screaming meanies :D

Have fun in Flagstaff, man. That was always one of my favorite places to drive through in the summer time. Beautiful driving through flat land in New Mexico and seeing a snow capped mountain slowly getting bigger for miles and miles.

I always set my screamer on low but it's only a back up for my phone. I didn't have a screamin meanie at climate. Always used my phone. But with going back solo again I decided to get me one. Used to use them way back when. If I am really tired I will kick it on high, that way I know I'll get up. Cuz if you sleep through that, ya know ya definitely needed the rest.
