Same here. Haven't gotten an official call, letter or statement from anyone yet. I'm sure they know every employee is aware of the situation, but they're still supposed to make it official to employees. Doesn't make a difference to me either way.Albertaflatbed, bzinger, JSanborn103 and 1 other person Thank this.

So does this mean business might be slowing down for other drivers and other companies?
I am looking for employment and a company I talked to yesterday said that there might end up being a waiting list to go to orientation with all the yellow drivers looking for new jobs now
But I imagine that the carriers that shipped through yellow will just find new contracts with other companies so business should probably pick back up. But I bet there might be a bit of a slowdown while everybody works out the KinksmisterG, Albertaflatbed and Bumper Thank this. -
No, they are mostly either seeking out another Union gig to keep their retirement accounts -or- sucking up the unemployment and taking a break before looking for a new job.
See above. Unless they are union or home daily positions, we haven't seen much uptick in applications (or those who apply decide not to move forward when they find out we only offer 5 days out minimum).Albertaflatbed and navypoppop Thank this. -
I think a lot of them will not work for a non union company. Some may have enough credits to retire and will do so but most won't work for a non union company
I started driving back in 1969 for a Teamster job and was laid off in 1972. No union jobs available anywhere in NJ so I took a withdrawal card. I worked for non union companies until we moved to Florida in 1990 and got another union job but only lasted 2 years. Never worked for a union job again and those 5 years mean nothing for a retirement of union benefits.misterG, Albertaflatbed, Gearjammin' Penguin and 1 other person Thank this. -
Unbelievable.

Pos company just needs to go under.
They couldn't make money they just need to go away.Albertaflatbed and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -
Would be a new and enjoyable action.. For us taxpayers, who paid/will/pay most of it into the government. People in powerful political positions/offices do not go to jail. Cronies and scapegoats are sacrificed up to pacify the masses...Opus, Gearjammin' Penguin and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Chickens and other assorted situations are coming home to roost. Roost poles in the ole henhouse are only so long, will hold only so many. Have been sagging, now are cracking. Alas, the breaking will get here before long.
As in unemployment comp, food stamps, foreclosure, repos. etc... Theft, robbery ???
Ask the man doing the actual collecting (not the banker/auto dealer) what percentage of his accounts are in his 60 and 90 day columns on his delinquency report. Folks; when they hit 90, it is headed down P an L trail.201 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this. -
Nobody will make the effort to cut you a paycheck either... I would play like I'd gotten the word and plan accordingly..misterG and LtlAnonymous Thank this.
