Are you using your own trailer?
Are you able to dispatch yourself?
Hard to answer your question without knowing more details.
I’ll give you some advice on what you should have. Your own tag (nonnegotiable)
Your own Ifta license, including the licenses for the few other states that require it (nonnegotiable) These items you want in your own name because when you quit or get canned you’ll be sol.
That’s all I gottscottme, bamanation, ibcalm19 and 3 others Thank this. -
They would administer drug and alcohol, training, cargo and liability insurance, payroll, operations, sales, fmcsa, ifta, audits, marketing, risk that you don’t put them under cause the 100 different stupid things you potentially could do, maintenance on trailers, trailer, fuel if needed on trailer, insurance on trailer, paying your lumper at 0230 in the morning, figuring out a rescue plan when your truck breaks down with a perishable load on Memorial Day in Wyoming 230 miles from a shop that is open…, pay you even though their customer did not pay, ensure you are squared away after you quit on a whim, it goes on and on.. more specifics determine what the commodity is and how much work/ money/ risk the company does vs. you.

I’m on an 80/20. They handle pretty much everything @Short Fuse EOD spelled out. I worry about my truck and my non trucking liability insurance and that’s it.

Working for a company for at least four to five years and waiting until it gets better, it may take that long.
I don't get why you new CDL holders are trying to jump into the business end of things when things are headed into the crapper. We have 20,000 drivers that just got inserted into the market looking for work, they are experienced drivers and have marketability, a few will enter into the O/O market but even then they will have years of driving experience that they won't need to worry about so they can focus on the business end of it.
