Given the current freight market -- that Schneider position posted above will likely be tough to beat; it's all drop-n-hook...been there, done that. Not really hard work. Good practice with both backing & swapping out trailers -- that practice will come in super-handy with later CDL gigs.
Here's another one you really oughta check out (if you haven't already) -- they take rookies, & it's good $$$$$$$.....but it's HAAAAARRRRDDD WORK:
Sysco -- home-daily driver -- Santa Rosa, CA
Here's another you might check out (if you haven't already)....sez 6 months experience preferred (but not necessarily req'd):
H & H Recruiting -- home daily CDL driver -- Windsor, CA

Does the new job have to be no-touch freight?

Redding Lumber Transport
I spoke with these guys years ago and they seemed great. I ended up going to a company that I thought would never take me (trying to lease on, pulling flat with zero open deck experince)
From my understanding you'd never be too far from home.tscottme and Truckingdaytrader Thank this. -
Try food service or even pepsi or coca cola…

RLT is a good outfit but they run primarily the I-5 corridor. The OP wants something where he's home more than once a week. He lives so far off route that he might not get home very often.Truckingdaytrader, Movingismylifeilovemoving and Chinatown Thank this.

If I were in California, and in your shoes, I'd probably look at Pride Transport for OTR. I think that would be a good short term option for you. You gotta get some experience and miles under your belt if you wanna get back to the LTL sector. I get that you don't want to be away from home much, but you have to bend some to accomplish a long term goal. If you can sacrifice 1 year, it'll do wonders for you for the next 20 years.
