That is what I meant - labor costs as regards to both revenue and freight volume are on par with other publicly traded ltls. Interest payments is the only outlier.RockinChair Thanks this.

Remenber this one?
Consolidated Freightways locked the gates with no prior notice to drivers.
Teamsters drivers caused lots of problems there.
~
Company I was with hired one of the drivers. He didn't stick around long and sued the company that hired him for a back injury. Company gave him $25G and he left with no further argument.
Consolidated Freightways' drivers and dockworkers were unionized, and the new Con-Way companies (Con-way Central Express (CCX), Con-way Western Express (CWX), Con-way Eastern Express (CEX), etc.) were nonunion, creating tense relations with CF's Teamsters. -
Sure, they should be but I don't think I'd sit around on my butt waiting for it to happen. When PIE sold their tank division to Matlack the PIE drivers were given the opportunity to apply at Matlack. That's it, nothing more. . A lot of the senior drivers weren't hired and the union did nothing about it at all. To see how Teamsters treated long time union members told me everything I needed to know about what to expect from them when it came my turn.
As in "Jobs? There ain't no jobs, boys. Times are tough. Oh, and don't don't forget to pay your union dues."dwells40, RockinChair, Chinatown and 1 other person Thank this. -
Withdrawal card is all you need.
rockeee Thanks this. -
If those mismanaging the companies would not extend to themselves those lucrative overpayments they could pay the workers double without blinking an eye!dwells40 Thanks this.

Union can't do a thing about placing those drivers in new jobs.
The unions can and will do the same as cdl schools; throw a couple of names out there and that's it, we've done our job! -
If you have proof that they overpaid themselves (instead of paying themselves what they were contractually owed) then you should submit that information to the bankruptcy court, it would be a material fact that would affect the outcome of the proceedings.

Can't pay no dues if you ain't got no income. And if you ain't got no job then you don't need no union.
