I have been with Roehl for 13 months now and have to say that they are one of the better companies out there. I get consistent miles (avg. 2600/7days) sometimes more and sometimes I sit for a few hours before getting a new load. My FM is good about making sure I have a load to take me thru the weekends I am out but as for hometime, I average home on time 2 out of 5 trips out. It is the nature of the beast as it is difficult to schedule loads in the homeward direction sometimes. It is not cost effective to deadhead more than 100 miles to get you home on time, but there have been a few times where I deadheaded over 175 miles to get home. All in all, Roehl is a good company to drive for and as long as you are willing to work and go to Canada and NYC on occasion, you will not have any problems.

Thats a good deal, maybe some of these other companies should take note.....na don't think so.

I have noticed at Roehl if you keep a positive attitude and grasp an understanding of the business not just from a drivers perspective so that you can understand why things are the way they are. In my experiences they will bend over backwards for you when needed. Can you say 812 MI Paid deadhead to get loaded out of South Texas? That was how I got home for Christmas of 08. And a 634 MI DH just recently for Christmas 09. Its a rough time for all of us in this industry and understanding it and keeping positive is about the only way I myself can keep my sanity out here.

Does Roehl run into the north-east quite a bit? Just curious if they do since I live in PA and want to know how easy it would be to get home. I know I'm in their hiring area, but noticed they don't really have any terminals or drop yards out here.

Roehl has a drop yard in Bensalem, PA.
-
Is their drop yard in bensalem ,Off of stste Rd?Thats about 4 Miles from my house,Would i have to leave the truck their when on home time,Or would i be able to bring homE?thanks
-
Yes it is off of State Road and I am unsure if you would have to leave the truck there or if you could take it home. I'll have to check my drivers reference guide when I go back out to answer that in a couple days.
-
If you live within 50 miles of a drop yard/terminal, you're required to leave the truck there.

I think Bensalem is strictly a drop yard for trailers. I never saw trucks parked there. In fact it use to be that once you dropped your trailer there you had to get off the property within a certain amount of time.
rockfish469 Thanks this.
