And the sad thing is that the four-wheeler will probably file a lawsuit and get paid.

Doubt it. 4 wheeler was cited and issued a summons-failure to yield and improper lane change. If anything they’re fixing to get sued by the truck driver/trucking company and owner of the building that was hit.

Imagine being a hypothetical situation of a truck driver with a gun in the truck. If he was a company driver and his company didn't allow firearms in company vehicles, and someone inventoried the truck contents, not only do you go to the hospital and lose your ride home. You are likely getting fired because of the gun. Nobody prefers to be murdered than fired. But turning an accident where you did nothing wrong into getting fired is also a bad outcome. Carrying a gun isn't always a risk-free decision. Imagine your gun being stolen from the shop while your truck is getting repaired. Your stolen gun is then used in a crime and recovered by police (please not in NY, NJ, CA, etc) and you didn't notice or report the stolen gun. You could get fired by your company once your gun is mentioned in the police report. I too would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6, but I'd also rather not get fired rather than have a slight inconvenience after leaving a shop with something missing.

The gun doesn't just do what you plan on it doing. Other people get involved and they may have different plans.

This thread has absolutely nothing to do with guns. Guns were not mentioned anywhere and I cannot understand why you would even post that here

To newbies apply brakes don’t swerve that will be the safest option for you and others you might hit.. the vehicle that cut you off rolled the dice and if it’s craps it’s on them but if you hit a pedestrian or other vehicle you’re partially to blame because you swerved..

One of my Dad's rules hammered into me early on, trucks are NOT designed to swerve, period. Maintain your lane. Yes, you might kill that kid running across the road, but how many more would die if you lose control and slam into a building or a bus or something else you didn't see.

Imagine finding yourself in the middle of a riot and being pulled from your truck and having your brains bashed in a la Reginald Denny….
