Hey everyone
Has anyone had the rare occurrence about the trailer tires locking up but not due to ice?
I can’t get my trailer going again, I dropped it somewhere off Highway 30 for a moment to go get a shower at the truck stop in Little America at midnight (no parking left that late). then came back hooked up and I’m stuck. Traditional hammer banging won’t work.
no ABS or other warning lights.
No damage to trailer
All tires are properly inflated
I don’t see any arson clues.
I’m confused.
It’s summer time and my trailer tires suddenly “froze locked”

You could try the DOT brake test.Air all the way up until the compressor shuts off.Release brakes, shut off engine.Turn key back to on and hold the brake to the floor for a minute.Pump the brakes until the air is gone.Check your trailer connections.Try to move back or forward easily, see if any of them turn at all.

Check to see if anyone put a dime into the red glad hand.

Do you hear air exhausting when you set trailer brakes?
Remove red line and make sure nothing is in either glad hand, then press red button. Do you have air coming out of glad hand?okiedokie, JB7, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm wondering if a trailer air line has been severed, punctured, or partially cut.

Try backing against the "frozen" brakes. That often works better than pulling forward.

I found out what the problem was, better yet I even fix it myself without costing my company money on roadside.
The bottom compressed air hose from the tank burst near the fitting. So I went to a truck stop, after doing a lot of research about what these fittings were, I had to buy and replace two. Couldn’t fix the bottom one when the top one was in the way. So I redid both.
Turns out the order in which they are plugged in matter one is 11 service and the other is 12 brake on each of the 4 compressors.
So I wrenched the bad ones out, plugged the new ones in and I’m hitting the road tonight!
The source of this problem I think was that since I was driving at night on 80 I probably picked up a piece of tire debris on the road with my tandems which cut one of these airlines. No way for me to see those when it’s pitch dark in Wyoming at night.Attached Files:
