A “Single Mom” can do that, when baby-daddy is loaded. I know a woman pulling ~$125K/yr in child support. She lives a far more privileged life than I.

 

I have a buddy that pays his ex wife 70k per year in alimony and child support.
She is unable to make ends meet in Los Angeles on that amount so she tried to get the court to increase the payments.
The court did not rule in her favor the poor woman was forced to get a job.
The child is 16

 

I think a lot of men have no issues paying to support their kids. Problem is that money doesn't all go to the kids. There needs to be far more accountability in how child support money is spent and any excess leftover should go to a trust or college fund for the kid(s).

At least Florida has axed lifetime alimony. No reason a woman should not be able to support herself within 2 or 3 years of separation.

 

No reason a divorced, adult woman can’t support herself the moment she leaves the courtroom. Afterall, a man is expected to support himself and his family. What happened to equality and all that? Oh wait. It’s situational/agenda specific.

 

And this is a woman with advanced degrees! Surely she could manage a small business or something.
I will have to ask my friend what sort of job she did get in the end.
