    Yeah, I would've done that if I hadn't gotten griped at for taking a 13hr break and told I needed to get delivered asap. It was quicker to just pony up the cash and keep rolling. Didn't wanna risk getting hollered at again, for fear of what my mouth might say. I don't need to get fired lol

    @RubberDuck473

    You must've gotten Justin and Rich as your dispatchers. Ask if they'll send you to the party side with Travis and Robert :D the one appt. I overslept, which wasn't a small mistake by any means, the conversation went 'I overslept' and he said 'that's not good', and that was the end of it lol.

    Your fuel adventure might not have been as bad as you thought. It really just depends on what COMDATA was offering for fuel discounts on that day. 30 cents higher might have had a 30c/gal discount while Wood River only had 10c, but idk. Just this week, my fuel stops were way off on calculations and I just sent a message saying I was fueling in Checotah.

    Surprised they gave you a hard time about a 13 hour break. That's one reason I don't like those 'deliver per appt' and 'deliver ASAP' lines they add to the messages. Sometimes they just put deliver ASAP just meaning it's drop and hook and to help driver out and sometimes they really mean it NEEDS to be delivered ASAP.

    There are some slow weeks here, but they will certainly run you without any remorse if they need you to lol. I'm a little jealous of that Ogden run you got though.

    If he has Justin and Rich then he'll get his tail run off. I always did alright with Robert an Travis but every driver I ever talked to that had Justin an Rich were always just absolutely killing it on miles.

    My miles have picked up a bit with Robert and Travis the last month. I'm around 3000/wk average this month. I think they realized I actually enjoy overnighters and don't care what time of day I run. Or maybe it's just luck. Been doing a lot of 5pm-5am 'shifts'. Probably 7 or 8 in the last 30 days, but I enjoy them.

    I've noticed Travis and Robert aren't the best working with recaps, but that might just be a Climate thing. Weeks with recaps seem to be low 2000's, but weeks with a 34 are easily 3000 and sometimes more.

    Dang man, that's a tough break. Sometimes dispatch can be harder on newbies. There were times Robert called me the first year I was here. Both times I was under a Coke load. I just explained to him what my strategy was for that day, calmly, and over time, they left me alone once they saw I knew what I was doing. You better make sure you get adequate rest working for these folks because they are going to run you and run you hard. One thing you'll have to keep in mind though.....Hershey and Coke......they get unglued about those loads. Those loads gotta get there asap. For instance, Palmyra to Edwardsville always gets 2 days to run it, but if you have the hours, they don't expect you to take 2 days. Edwardsville to Ogden is definitely gonna take 2 days to 2½ days. At least that one is a drop and hook.

    And yes I would definitely petition to never use Wood River. I think I've used it one time since I've worked here and it was super late when I did so it gave me no problems. I agree with Professor, use North Platte next time. You don't ever have to come out of pocket. You can fill up at any Pilot, even if it isn't assigned. If they say something, just explain the situation. I'm down here in Brookshire, TX and they gave me Joplin for fuel. I audibles that one and used Anna, TX instead. I didn't need fuel in Joplin. Fortunately, we use Anna so they won't say anything. In fact, they assigned Anna to me recently, the last time i was coming up from Texas. Sometimes the fuel stops don't make sense. If I audible the fuel stop, I'll usually go to another location that I know they use. Once you learn the system and some of their patterns here, it all becomes 2nd nature.

    They're seeing that you run good. The minute you gain their trust, they are gonna put the miles on you. I much prefer the 700 to 900 mile runs that I can overnight, moreso than the long hauls. The long hauls are ok if I get them on the right days.

    They'll reimburse you the cash. That's one thing they're good for. If you need to get some fuel, get it with no hesitation. They just want them loads to get to where they need to. If you can use the stops they assign, that's always better, but it ain't always feasible.

    I've got Travis and Robert. They run me decently without much issue. I'm good with the miles they've been getting me, and the fact they've left me alone to do my job. That Jarred fella acted like an ### to me and tried to make it sound like they were doing me some huge favor with this ogden load by saying "we gave you the best load in the fleet" and it sounded like he really wanted to add "and this is how you repay us?"....oh well, there's always gonna be someone there to screw up a good thing lol.

    I like the 1000 plus miles runs. As long as they don't cause me to sit. Drop an hook an rock an roll is my motto.

    Jarred is one of the fellas in the office that thinks he's a member of the upper crust of society. He is a real D**********( fill in your own expletives ). In reality he is just a planner and another cog in the wheel that works with all the other moving parts of the company. Seriously if ya ever have an opportunity to meet him personally, DON'T BOTHER!!! He is very stuck up an rude. He won't talk to you. He acts like you are beneath his station in life.
