What sectors can use these older daycabs?
I know construction is booming in my area , would these hold up well to dirt work?
Is it worth it to grab one or two and try to put them to work locally?
How well were these units maintained ?
How bad will daycab prices tank after the october Yellow auction ?

Dang man that is a LOT of terminals!!
Yellow’s terminals are for sale as the LTL liquidates. Here’s a list of locations.77fib77, The Crossword Trucker and bzinger Thank this. -
I would guess a twin screw would be adequate for a dump trailer. Most are probably 10 speed Road Rangers. Would need to install a pto, and hydraulic pump, but that’s no big deal. Surely would not bother to stretch a frame to accommodate a dump box.
As for the ‘market’ that’s hard to say, prices may be depressed for a period of time, just depends if all this equipment hits the auctions at the same time.Flat Earth Trucker, 77fib77, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -
A lot depends on Yellow real estate, and leases they may be committed to for a number of years.

Farmers will grab a bunch of them, I would imagine. They don't need sleepers, but that's what they grabbed ~15 years ago when the bottom fell out and all those lease returns were sitting everywhere.
As far as maintained, who knows? Normally that answer would be yes, but when money starts to get tight, a lot of big ticket preventative maintenance gets pushed off into the future. But I don't know how you'd find that out in this case, there's no one to ask.77fib77, Oxbow, KrumpledTed and 2 others Thank this. -
I clicked on a few locations Map Link just to see. Alaska locations links came up in Arizona. Alabama locations came up as in Louisiana. etc. Lol77fib77, bzinger, Feedman and 1 other person Thank this.

Farm trucks must be different where some of you are from. Up around home they’re all big hood Pete’s decked out with pipes and visors.

Having worked for Lazer Spot for a year (I'm not bragging), I can assure you an old beat up Yellow daycab with a bazillion miles would be like a brand new Peterbilt by their standards.
