I passed my test and got my license this week and started applying to a few places. One of them was a local job for a company named Lumy. I got a call back pretty quick from a lady for that job and she told me it was with Swift. I would do at least two weeks training Otr then be on my own. I sent in all the information she requested and am supposed to hear back from her today.
Is this ordinary that the company was named Lumy on the job posting but the job would actually be through Swift? I guess contracted through Swift??
It pays .56 per mile and she said it comes to 1200 per week. Supposed to be from the Tulsa area into Missouri each night and back. Live loads and drop and hooks. I guess I need to find out about detention pay and other situations like that?
The training is 700 per week. My concern would be if they tried to keep me on training for more than 2 weeks because I couldn’t pay my bills at that rate.
Just looking for suggestions from you guys on what to look out for here and if there’s any questions I should be asking them.
Thanks I’m advance for any feedback.

Where is the nearest city/state to your location? Tulsa? Or somewhere else?
What CDL endorsements do you have (if any)?
What is your driving record like? Any accidents/citations?
What is your criminal history like? Any SAP?
What is your age? What is your required home time? Weekly? More often? Less often?
Just how long can you stay out?
The more we know -- the better feedback you can get.....

Lumy looks like an agency that supplies drivers to trucking companies.
I'm not knocking Lumy, because there's dozens of companies that do that and fills a niche in trucking. -
I have tanker and doubles/triples, I sent in fingerprint for hazmat two weeks ago amd just waiting to hear back on that.
I have no accidents but one speeding ticket from Oct 2020 for 1-10 mph over the limit.
Zero criminal history amd zero drug use.
I am 44 and have been a software engineer for the last 16 years. I would prefer a local home daily job but wouldn’t mind being out a week at a time. I couldn’t do more than that due to kids.
I appreciate the help.Chinatown Thanks this. -

No, it's a common way of filling driver positions. Be blunt, "If I don't get the local job, I won't work there."

What about detention pay amd breakdown pay amd similar? She didn’t mention any of that. Is that to be expected in this type of position? If so, what would be good amounts for those? -
Swift has pay policies on those issues. I'd ask Lumy to clarify if those apply with you being a Lumy driver.
Those pays usually aren't negotiable. -
Here's one that pays really well and home every day.
Many drivers there make $100G and may make between $80G to $100G.
