Charged with a felony but not convicted

My soon-to-be ex-wife ran off in April. Before she did, she got me arrested in March with a Domestic Violence and a False Imprisonment charge, which is a felony. A month later, the charges were dismissed. She was obviously upset about it. She had told me that my being arrested was an accident, that she didn't mean for it to happen. I finally went and got the police report this week and she had lied. She had gone there on purpose to report me, make me out a violent, psycho monster, and have me arrested.

My question is: The fact of the charge is still on my record. Would companies be seeing this and not giving me a second look because of it? Is there any way I can get it off my record?

 

Ok. Thank you, Chinatown. No, I haven't made the move. But she did, to the panhandle. I'm not sure exactly where. She "went to visit her parents" on April 12, then a week later she told me she wasn't coming back. The only time she contacted me after that was to demand money and say things to hurt me. Her mom told me a while later that she had met a guy online on Friday, and moved in with him on Sunday. I haven't heard a word from her or her mom since May.

 

Yep, count on it. I just wish I wasn't surrounded by all her crap. I'd love to just toss it outside with a "FREE" sign.

 

Basically looking for more money and less work. Almost took a sewer inspection and maintenance job but Im not in good enough shape for it and it's a small crew so Id stick out like a sore thumb. Im not sure exactly what I'm looking for.
