Working on week 4 back at it post covid blood clots.. first 2 were tough. I lost so much muscle, gained almost 40lbs, and turned 60... it was hard getting my fat ### in the truck, no way I'm strapping/chaining a steel load.
Still have lots of hurdles to get over but feeling a little better every day. Staying inside Nova Scotia for now, hauling cans, mostly store deliveries. Doesnt pay huge but they seem to have an endless supply of work between stores and the pier.I'm staying away from that and just doing the highway mostly. 2500+ miles a week, and weekends off. Get to see a bunch of the province I've been away from for quite a while. Might be a good way to spend my last couple years working?
Love taking a nap on the top of Kelly's, nice fresh air and good views to wake up to... lolJubal Early Times, tramm01, singlescrewshaker and 16 others Thank this. -
Glad you’re getting back on your feet, don’t push no harder than what your body will allow till you get all your strength back. Stay safe out there….tramm01, singlescrewshaker, jamespmack and 9 others Thank this. -
Thanks! I have days I feel like I've gone 5 rounds with Tyson, those days are not fun, Dr says its "Long haul" covid, tho there doesn't seem to be an exact diagnosis of that, seems every symptom, "long haul covid"... whatever, one day at a time. Luckily not a smoker, never have been so recovery should be better. They did a full CT scan and clots were all gone, the 9 weeks of Fragmin needles worked rather than switching to pills early. Doc at the hematology clinic try's to get covid patients with severe clots to put up with giving themselves 2 needles a day verses the pills as he thinks it workes better.
2nd problem tho, ct scan showed a 3cm "lesion" on my right kidney.. so, waiting for an MRI and an appointment with a urologist... old age ain't for sissys....tramm01, singlescrewshaker, Old_n_gray and 12 others Thank this. -
Long haul covid is what they say my dad has right now. Sadly he apparently didn’t go to the Dr. when he should have. My sister drug in that Covid and dad and step mom got it, everyone got over it except dad.
Now he’s on oxygen 24/7. Dad has bronchitis, and they found scarring in his lungs. When ask if he had problems at a younger age that would have caused the scarring, he said I guess it was the hooping cough when I was a boy.
They said it’s not unusual to last 9 months, so I hope you and him both get through it with no other issues…..tramm01, singlescrewshaker, jamespmack and 12 others Thank this. -

Unfortunately, one of the people I know that has the long haul, wasn't his fault, per se, as he went in, but they didn't know how to treat it nor what it was (this was definitely early Covid), so he's saddled with the results of the cover up and incompetence of the medical profession that surfaced during the early period of the disease spread.
Of course, now they want to term everything Covid now, and are trying to ramp it up again to maintain control of the weak-minded.
Flint1, tramm01, singlescrewshaker and 9 others Thank this.
