I love ot when well laid out plans fail lol.
Got to my stopping place today, the Flying J in Salina. Parked, and discovered during my post trip that one of my mudflaps has gone awol somewhere between Wright City and here. I'm too pooped to head down to the boss shop or the spedco down the road. Ive got plenty of time tomorrow, I'll get it fixed up in the morning. Right now I need sleep lol

 

Ah, I've been at the yard all day dead to the world. My 3pm, 45 minute power nap before heading home turned into 11 hours. Whoops. If I see your truck still on my way out in a few minutes, I'll make sure I lay on the airhorn

 

So this is new (for me). Back to back 0400 delivery times. 0430 at Sam's in Denver in the morning, then picking up at the organic dairy down the road at 1000, and that one delivers Monday at 0400. I'm hoping like hell whoever dropped this trailer at Coke in Wright City got it washed out before dropping it, and Sam's doesn't leave it messy, cause I really don't want to have to drive 100 miles round trip to the beacon by the TA and back to the dairy. Wouldn't be so much of a problem if'n my dumb ### hadn't forgot to put the new leaf blower I bought for the truck IN the truck before I left the house lol. I do have a broom...but it's not a "reefer trailer" broom. Tried that a few weeks ago, got 1/3 of the way done, and said eff this s I'm going to the beacon lol
So my goals for the morning are
Quick in & out at Sam's
Get lucky with a clean (or clean enough) trailer
Get to the dairy early, get lucky (again) and get loaded early pdq
Gtfo towards St Louie.

 

The organic dairy at platteville used to loan out a leaf blower for ya to use if ya needed it. Don't know of they still do or not.

 

Definitely gonna message Robert and Travis asking them to get me this run as much as possible.

Borrowed their blower, easy peasy. Gotta remember to put mine in the truck next time I'm home lol. Had a mudflap hanging on by 1 fastener this morning. What's up with the mudflaps on these trailers anyway? Seems like half the trailers I've drug have had 1 or both mudflaps all cattywampuss or hanging on by a thread. Anywho, it held on til I got unloaded. Looked at it, still had the nuts and bolts in the frame. Managed to re-secure one of them by hand (will have to keep an eye on it to make sure it stays). I'm just gonna go out and buy a stack of mudflaps and a box of hardware and start replacing every mudflap on every trailer "the right way" so I nor anyone else has anymore problems with them lol. And then try ro get Climate to reimburse me for the flaps and hardware, along with $15-$20 for my time and effort. And I'm certain they'll do it, too....when pigs fly lmao

 

Don't spend the money. Pick up mud flaps that have been pulled off an are just laying around when ya find em. I collected those an stacked em on the catwalk. Yes the holes are ripped through the tops but they still bolt up an work just fine. Carry a ratchet an a wrench. Sizes 1/2, an 7/16. That covers most of the existing nuts an bolts. Carry a can of PB Blaster for presoaking existing bolts. I never had a nut an bolt that wasn't reusable. Carry a carpet knife for trimming bottoms off if they're dragging the ground. Carry a good sturdy 1" or 2" ratchet strap to use for rebending mudflap brackets. Will those recycled mudflaps pull off when backed against a curb? Why yes they will, but so will a brand new one that ya wasted 20 bucks or so on to serve the same purpose. I only bought mudflaps when I was out of used junk ones. Don't waste the money unless ya got to.

 

I damaged my truck. I gosh darned ol black heffer come running out into the road on Thursday night up in the pitch black 2 lane night time up in nowhere South Dakota. Fortunately I managed to get slowed down an veered away enough that she just smacked my bumper an right steer tire. Took my wheel covers off an bent the bumper a little. Coulda been a whole lot worse.
