My brother has been accepted to oreintation,he just finished cdl school,before going to school he smoked a joint with his friend on his birthday,and is concernd with the drug screen,do they do hair testing,blood or pee.Since he started school he is a changed young man and is so excited about finally having a career.i dont want it to be over befor it starts.thanks lots of great posts hear for people to learn.I think his concern was the hair test.

 

THC can stay around in your system for 4 weeks or so, if that is within the time frame I would suggest that he postpone his orientation until that time passes.

 

Thanks for info i will suggest it to him,should he wait 90 days,do they take hair samples for test?

 

30 days should be sufficient.

 

WOW that's just what I want to see....a maybe future truck driver that smokes pot.

 

Sorry, people do make mistakes,so instead of him moving on to trucking and doing better for himself,i will suggest to him to get married,have some kids and get on welfair,Because truckers are all saints and never have done anything wrong in their life.We live in not the best of places and drugs and bad people are everwhere,he wants to move on to trucking,and succeed,Get out of the hood.I admire him at 23,he wants change.Thank you all for your imput,if we all started helping each other more in life,instead of bashing each other for are mistakes we might just all live in happier world.

 

I personally believe there is nothing wrong with smoking weed and I think it is ludicrous that it is outlawed by the U.S. government. A person should be able to do what ever the hell they want to do on their own free time as long as it is not hurting other people. That said it is the law and your brother should have known the consequences of his action and refrained from smoking if his occupation requires that he not do so (the lack of discipline and not the smoking of weed is a more serious problem in my opinion). I am fully in agreement that no drugs, legal or otherwise, that inhibit the safe operation of a 80K pound vehicle should be tolerated.
