Nikola test drive

I'm surprised they didn't have a tow truck dragging it around the race track.

 

$450 thou. with a 350 mi. range. Get the Burdette’s on the phone it’s time for another run of doing what can’t be done.

 

They just recalled a bunch due to spontaneous fires?

 

So $450k and the dude promoteing them sounds like a snake oil salesmen. Plus the whole "but dont worry the government rebates that still leave you with insane payments, high intrest, a massive required down payment makes it so one of these is comparable to a normal diesel!" And the limited chargeing stations/hydrogen stations ontop of that is just bonkers. Especially when the best rebate around is about $40K without a ton of other hoops.

Sorry but for the payment on a 450K truck....which is around 6 to 7K with 5% and a 20% or rather 90k down payment....i could easily buy 4 used emissions trucks, rebuild the engines AND emissions and get 4 times the work and profit with money left over. If i really wanted to be fancy i could also grab 2 basic fleet spec new rigs. Hell if i wanted short run trucks, truck trader is showing dozens of day cabs for 30k a pop i could EASILY get as many as 15 of those if i haggle or bulk purchase and make a huge amount more profit. Throw a rebuild at them and i could still get 7 maybe 8 of those.

450k is just flat out insane and moronic. So mu h so only a fanatic or an idiot would buy at that price. Especially for something with such a limited use case. Even the #### teslas are cheaper and make a ton more sense. They are only around 250K depending on the source get around 500 miles and still somehow charge faster....jesus.

Sad too i really wanted a nikola someday, but at those prices forget it.
