Chemical tanker driver, I want to switch companies.... but, I only have 5 months experince driving tankers. 5 years driving dry van and refs.
I still wanna make $120k+, and still wanna drive tankers.
In june I had these two violations on the same day
Driver Violation: 392.2 Failure to obey traffic control device NON-OOS
Driver Violation: 395.30(b)(1) Driver failed to certify the accuracy of the information gathered by
the ELD NON-OOS
Preventables accidents
I dented the bumper of the truck in a parking lot, company gave me a verbal warning but had me sign a paper saying they had talked to me about it. I dont know if they have reported it on my DAC.
What are your thoughts about only having 5 months hazmat tanker experince?

I'd be looking at cyro companies. Most want 12 mos. exp. with any type trucking.

Assuming you want to stay in tanker, your options are limited until you have 12 months in tanker, IMO. Tanker companies are often less forgiving of oopsies on your record.
You can get a free copy of your DAC/Hire Right report from Hire Right.
What's the story about not obeying traffic control device? -
Why do you want to leave your company now?
They are showing accountability in talking to you if you should continue to have more accidents(documentation) and cause major damage, hurt yourself or others. If it's a good company and you can learn from this(you should) don't quit. -
I'm not sure that you could gain a high paying tanker position with your current csa score. Are those the only 2 things that you have on there?
As for the amount of pay your wanting. Some chemical tanker companies offer that if you willing to stay on the road for 6 weeks plus. As for local tankers some will pay this amount also. But you have to have a clean mvr and CSA to be considered.
As mentioned the cryogenic companies would be a good place to start. They pay 100k- 150k p/yr deposit on what your doing. But they are beyond strict. Some private fuel carriers pay that type of money also. And the private chemical distribution companies will pay that type of pay.
