I sawzall up a 3 of those plastic crates to fit inside headache rack tray.
Cut the bottoms out of them. I drilled a few holes in bottom of tray so water could get out -
Always been in that box, never had a headache rack. Figure with the roughly 6 square foot bottom of the tray it should spread the weight around pretty decently. At least now the chains aren't sliding and roaming around in the box. If this doesn't work plan B is a hell of a lot more expensive. Thats what i wanted on this trailer to begin with but Mac apparently didnt want to. Look up DSD transport on YouTube, that box is the cats meow.

8 2x30 ratchet straps. 25 4x30 regular straps. 15 4x20 straps. 12 4x12 straps.singlescrewshaker, CAXPT and krupa530 Thank this.

I saw one of those (not DSD) years ago and was in love with that idea of a box like that on a step deck. You're right, that is slick as heck. I imagine they could have some pull out drawers to get max storage access from the side depending on how far back that box goes, but the ones I saw had one on each side with a shelf and chain hangers, and that would have been plenty for me.

singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -
Oh yeah, he's got one on each side and a full size hanger/tray like in a headache rack but it slides out. I don't even want to know what those cost to have made i dont think.CAXPT Thanks this.

Yes sir, that's the ticket. Best of both worlds.

Should be a factory option in my opinion, can't add that much weight to the trailer.CAXPT Thanks this.
