My favorite option isn’t on that list, find a truck sitting in a field or the farm, someone’s back yard etc. neglected and get it back into shape. Buying running driving cat powered trucks for $5-$7,000 is definitely a thing of the past though, unless you in the right place at the right time

Have you ever owned or worked on a Fitzgerald glider ??? Probably not .... Or are your just another one of them guys that heard how great a glider is to escape the emissions issue & heard the name Fitzgerald ?
A Fitzgerald truck would be the last truck I would recommend
I'am saying that from the experience of working on a few of em
BTW a Fitzgerald glider is far from [ just like a new truck]Last edited by a moderator: Sep 3, 2023

I
I have never worked on one but the truck has already 500k+ on it, so fair to say, it is made it that far, might as well start somewhere. Of course the price is high, so try and get it Dyno, see where it is, have it checked out and price accordingly. If you can get it for cheaper, cool, if not, then walk away. Either way, any truck needs work, no matter what the paperwork says, there is always something that requires attention. My point is that it is a newer Aero, with potential because no emissions, no eld and not fighting the wind as much as a good old Pete. It is all about choice, and regardless of what anyone thinks, that choice lies in the person who is doing the buying. I’m not buying but offered an opinion. Is it the best opinion? I don’t know but it’s what I suggested and just like every opinion, there is always someone who disagrees. It is what it is. -
Buy a new tractor.

You couldn't pay me enough to ever cross the commiefornia state line again so that not really an impediment for me. Of course, I'm not the one asking here.
Nexwinner Thanks this. -
My last otr gig was 2 trips to Cali every week.
I have absolutely ZERO desire to ever step foot across state line ever again.
