I love how you use the term "discontinued" as if Heartland Express is an item at the grocery store lol......in all seriousness, I'm actually next to their terminal in Pontoon Beach, IL and their are dozens of Heartland Express trucks there.

I worked for Heartless and relayed a FedEx load to another driver, on time, who then managed to deliver it late. They fired both of us.
I told my driver manager that my mom had died from cancer and that I had to make it back home for the funeral. It was a total lie. I had to be back home for a fantasy football draft with my friends and they were terrible about getting me home on time. They asked that before I went on home time I stop in to the HQ in Iowa where they cut me loose with no car and no way to get home. Complete A holes.
All while they thought my mom just died from cancer. I mean, she DID die from cancer, just 30 years ago…motocross25, JoeyJunk, Mike2633 and 3 others Thank this. -
Is it bad that I read this and started laughing?

Well, it does display a certain amount of cynicism on your part. It's probably well earned though.

I had a guy working for me that was killing off his relatives one at a time. They always seemed to die on Thursdays and he'd need Friday off for the funeral. Especially during deer season. Or trout season. O salmon season.
By the time I wised up to what he was doing he'd already killed off both his parents and most of his aunts and uncles. I started keeping a spread sheet. Once in awhile I'd have to tell him..."Sorry Joe, you killed off Aunt Letha two years ago" and he wouldn't get Friday off. He was a good sport about it and when he died we closed the office at noon on Friday.

Ha-ha I know they are still out there, but I also known they are not as prevalent as they used to be so I figured while the corporate business is still around I know that, the Heart Land Brand has been taken a different direction.

I go by the Iowa City terminal almost daily. Every time I go by it is either crammed full of trucks or it’s a total ghost town. I guess I never thought much of it either way.

It's a whole lot of trucks there. CFI, Heartland, Millis, and Smith Transport trucks/trailers. They always leave out of there and fuel at that J there. I see mostly trailers every time I pass any of their terminals.
