Close Encounter On I-80 In Wyoming

Driving east on I-80 in Wyoming during winter one year, I saw a tractor trailer way off the shoulder to my right facing westbound. I wondered how the heck that happened.

And then I saw it. Tracks from the westbound lanes leaving the snow-covered road and went into the comedian at an angle where they ended up on the eastbound side.

I surmised that this particular tractor trailer left the westbound lanes, crossed the comedian and eastbound lanes, went well off the shoulder finally coming to rest.

Glad I wasn't there for that episode.

 

It's a recipe for disaster for half the year with high wind winter driving and a lot of light Amazon and FedEx guys pushing the envelope in bad conditions.

 

This i why i prefer to drive on i90 instead.. less idiots up there

 

Repeat after me.... "ME-DI-AN"...... what the hell is a comedian?

 

Saying "comedian" instead of "median" sounds funny. Get it?

Unsolicited dad joke:

I told my wife I was going to build a model of Mount Everest.

"To scale?", she asked.

"No. To look at", I said.

 

Boy those cables sure do save lives. That four in the hammer lane wouldn’t have a clue why they were standing at the Pearly Gates. Not even the slightest reaction until they were well past the crash.

Thankfully that post didn’t hit the camera truck in the windshield.

 

I have used the Mount Everest joke... I feel older and older every day.

As far as "comedian"... I have heard several folks use that word for median... just because they think it's correct. That and "Fire Dehydrant".. some things just irritate me.
