So I bought this international durastar in an estate auction. No key. Doors are locked. No paper work. No batteries. It has a Maxxforce engine. but that’s not a problem since there is no engine or transmission.
So here I am trying to find where on the frame a vin number would be.
Is the vin somewhere on the frame or do I need to get to the data plate?![]()

Hope that was cheap. VIN should be on frame rail near the area where an engine would reside

It was a good price.
And it has 4wheel drive . That could become a fun project But I have to get to the vin first. Where do I find it besides on the data plate? I want to get a clue of what year it is and what engine/transmission it came with originallyaustinmike Thanks this. -

I found some sticker where the battery normally is, but not sure if it use of any use.

Probably the # at the bottom of the tag your hand is covering.
4wheelspin Thanks this. -
I’ll check it out tomorrow.
From looking and comparing it to other pics online . It looks like there could have been a maxxforce 7 in there? It was used by a power company . So maybe mounted to an Allison transmission?
There is a swap to a Cummins diesel available that supposedly plugs into the old harness.
But all that’s downrange . First I gotta get inside and get to the vin -
I normally deal with military vehicles.
Well that’s all I have, anyway, besides this internationalOxbow Thanks this.
