Been living in the truck, but I want to start building my life outside the truck again.
If you guys had no car, low credit score and just cash, what city would you go to and how would you start building a life outside the truck again?
Cities or towns a trucker might consider living in and building a life?

Las Vegas immediately comes to mind. There are plenty of others for a variety of reasons.

Start by building a credit history.
Pre paid credit card, a Walmart card or a monthly payment such as a bank loan.
I'd think of the few states that have no sales tax, offer affordable homes and/or properties and are near where you'd like to live after your career.tscottme and austinmike Thank this. -
You have to put your likes and dislikes on a sheet. It will put you in the place you would like to reside. Warm weather or cold weather climate, City live, rural area, mountains, beaches etcLav-25, Hatt91, tscottme and 1 other person Thank this.

With all due respect, you are not providing enough information. Are you retiring or planning to stay a driver or moving into a non-driving job?
This question is very close to asking what cell phone company you use! Every member of this forum will have an opinion on a city to move to. No car? Are you planning to use public transportation or buy a vehicle? Many different dynamics at play here to give an intelligent answer based on so little information!hotrod1653, silverspur, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
I personally want cheaper, colder, and more of my class of people. I can’t get more specific than that due to forum rules on political posts. Idaho, Montana or the Dakotas spring to mind but the lack of places to work scares me.

From what I read, Fort Wayne, IN is the cheapest place in the country to live.
Not for me but something you may want to consider to get a foothold on your life.austinmike Thanks this. -
As suggested above....you need to specify what you really want -- do you prefer a small town look & feel....or do you want a place with access to more stores, services....& events? What kind of cultural events appeal to you?
Example: If you like country music -- something nearer Nashville, TN might be a good idea.
Since you don't have a car -- you will want someplace that is pedestrian-friendly -- lots of sidewalks/bike paths and/or hiking trails.
You will also probably want someplace where you can walk to/from a decent grocery store without fighting ice/snow in the winter. This probably means you will want something south of say, I-40 in the southern states.
Another idea: since you don't have a car, you might look for places that have good access to services like Uber & Lyft.
Dennixx (above) is right -- life in America is much tougher if you don't have decent credit. Whether it's buying a house, car, or renting an apartment, etc....you really need to get those credit scores up if you don't want to get totally shafted on major purchases...& other life events. Employers in many cases now look at credit scores...as well as insurance companies.
Stay away from places that don't have decent truck parking options; a good example: the Phenix City, Al/Columbus, GA area.
FAIR WARNING: You might consider staying in your truck longer....& just stash more cash....until you get those credit scores up (depending on how low they are).

I’ve lived in Reno and my comps at the mgm would give some free rooms while I’m on my hometime, I actually left Nevada to start trucking. All my family is in Florida and that’s basically where I’m at, but would like to hear all opinions.

I like Tallahassee but it’s not as convenient as I would like it, the airport isn’t 24/7, very limited truck parking.silverspur Thanks this.
