I drive a truck for a septic service and was recently hurt and had to come into the office.

I was asked to make sure that we are complying with all DOT regulations. I have been on the FMCSA website for 3 days and I'm just confused. Most of our trucks are between 10,001 and 26,000 GVWR which puts them below CDL regulations but I know there are some that still apply. Can anyone point me to some resources that might actually help.

This link will get you to an FMCSA Q & A that deals with intrastate do's and dont's.
    http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/truck/driver/hos/hos-faqs.asp

Also, like Phroziac asked, "What specific questions do you have?" You are more likely to get better help if these drivers know exactly how they can help. This is really good group here. I'll bet you'll be on the right track soon enough.

    Welcome to the forum!

There weren't any specific questions. But after reading regulations for 3 days my brain was mush. I actually saw a post here that gave a number to the FMCSA and I called them and they were actually really helpful. They helped me narrow down what I need to pay real attention too.

    JustSonny Thanks this.

Gonna take a shot in the dark here, but since he was hurt on the job ( I think thats what he means).....
The company probably trying to make sure they have their preverbial ducks in a row before they turn it in on workers comp. Usually filing a claim with workers comp will also get OSHA curious depending on details of the injury, which could lead to big fines shut down etc....
Again just guessing but thats how I take it just wanting to know where to find the DOT regs on his particular situation. Also even though they are under 26,001lbs air brakes, tank volume etc would require CDL anyway wouldn't it? Don't know if that applies to his situation or not.
