Yeah its been a deal .. theres days when I've told him... should of just stripped it and parted it out .. ... but he wouldn't hear of it ..lol

 

Unfortunately I know that feeling

 

Well, if you got the money honey, I will make the time.... and+.5 after 5 on Fridays....
But you did not stick him, just did it cause he needed it and you was his only option.
Peggy used to tell me: "Roger, we'd be millionaires if you had the killer" instinct to charge as you could.
But, I can feel good that I helped some people get things going again when they had no one else to turn too.
Money ain't everything, but it is a #### good substitute.

 

I've done it too .. I'am not too proud to admitt it ..

 

I did it for a few reasons ..
1.. because he is a friend and I would do what ever I can to help a friend & he gave me a slot in his shop for my own truck and has done what he could to pay me
2 just to prove to myself & others I could do it
3 I also wanted the challenge plus I learned what to do different next time
Most of all I needed a break and time to revaluate some things

 

I didn't realize anybody but me still drove a 12 valve. Mines a 97 and my wife has been after me to get a newer one for the last several years, and when I ask her why, she says because its old and looks old. I tell her so am I but I still work and so does it. There used to be a guy on here that had a hat that passed up butt ugly before it ever left the factory, and I commented on his hat. What I failed to mention was I knew where there was one just as ugly if not uglier, and that sits on my wifes noggin during the summer. One time I was going into town and she wanted to go with me which she hardly ever does, and, of course, she had that hat on. About half way I asked her if she was going to wear her hat inside and she told me that she planned on it. She asked why, and I said because it's ugly as shti. She said you mean like this pickup? I said the pickup maybe ugly but I don't drive the dam thing inside a building. I didn't drive it inside the building, but she wore that fkin hat inside.

 

Being a woman’s hat sure would have explained a lot at the time. That ole boy sure was sensitive, like maybe her wore more women’s clothing than just their hats.

 

I just sold my 12 valve 2 years ago, and have been wishing ever since that I had kept it

 

Talking about 12 valves. My 97.I bought it in 98 with 30k on it. It has 338k on it now. It's showing it's age but probably the best truck I have ever owned.
