Just in case you didn’t know, always take the left lane thru there going eastbound lolProfessor No-Name Thanks this.

It's terrible, man. It's worse every single time I cross it. Doesn't matter what speed you go, it sucks lol.Professor No-Name Thanks this.

Headed to Robinson for a load going to Palmyra. I guess I didn't ruffle too many feathers with those 4 pallets. Nice change of pace to bypass St. Louis altogether this week
Once I saw the notes saying 'no washout needed', I was ecstatic lol. I need to invest in a leaf blower instead of sweeping every groove individually.bryan21384 and Professor No-Name Thank this. -
That's true man. I'm not so sure that the implementation of electronic logs didn't change the culture of trucking in that regard. That made every single second valuable in a different kind of way. I miss the those days too, and the few laves that still have restaurants, I'm hanging on to them for dear life lolProfessor No-Name and mdmgolfin Thank this.

Notes about no washing out or washing out specifically weren't in the load info's when I was there. It may of said make sure trailer was clean an full of fuel. I always used a cheap leaf blower from walmart an just swept it up off the ground at rear of trailer. I carry a five gallon trash bucket to dump my messes in. I'm a firm believer in leaving an area as clean or cleaner than i found it.bryan21384, dwells40 and Thrasher28 Thank this.

E-logs changed our world drastically. I used to get a shower an a hot meal every day. With paper logs i just ran my day an made sure i had a legal log to show for it. An for those that say well ya get a half hour break every day so there is no reason ya can't get a shower every day I can honestly say BS cuz ya can't count on the fact when ya stop that there won't be a line that prevents ya from getting that shower.wulfman75, bryan21384 and dwells40 Thank this.

Usually it just says clean and full of fuel. This one specifically said 'no washout needed. Robinson has a washout bay'. Thought that was handy.
Agreed about the mess. I can't stand seeing people's pallet scraps, nails, plastic, and other trash on the ground. I always just leave one door shut and the other cracked and sweep everything to the edge and then walk a trash can over to the back of trailer and sweep it directly into it. If no trash can, I just sweep it into a dust pan and into a bag. Pallet scraps in the side box. It's sad to see rest areas in very nature oriented states like Wyoming, Colorado, etc. get littered with trash.Professor No-Name, bryan21384 and dwells40 Thank this. -
There are still a number of good stops around. Some places may not necessarily be at a truck stop but there is truck parking. Missouri amd Texas are pretty much the only 2 states where you can find a good number of sit down places in terms of places we regularly run. Arkansas has a few good spots but it's definitely a fast food driven world here.
I got started in 2010 and the era of drivers helping each other was starting to shift then. I haven't gone to a fuel stop and been able to get a meal with fuel in several years now. There's a Valero in Little Rock, AR off of 440 thay use tk give full entrees with 100 gallons of fuel. When I was doing the 1099 thing out of Memphis, thay used to be a regular stop for me. Great lasagna. Velveeta spaghetti, fried chicken with the sides, I'm about to need a midnight snack lol
